Men's Lacrosse Lands Five Players on All-Region Team

Delaware Tech men’s lacrosse placed five players on the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 All-Region Team, highlighted by Gabe Smith (midfield) being named the region’s Defensive Player of Year.

Teammates joining Smith on the All-Region squad were Dominic Hippler (defense), Ethan Parker (attack), Chris Phillips (defense), and Shane Sylvester (attack). The group played a significant role in helping Delaware Tech win the Region 19 Championship and advance to the semifinals of the North Atlantic District Tournament.

Defensively, Smith, who played in 12 games, collected 31 ground balls and recorded 12 caused turnovers. On offense, the freshman led the team in goals (31) and assists (17).

Parker, a freshman who started all 13 games this season, was second on the team in goals (16) and assists (15). He also gathered 24 ground balls.

In 13 games, Sylvester, a sophomore, scored 14 goals, recorded 6 assists, and collected 15 ground balls.

Phillips and Hippler, both sophomores, posted solid defensive numbers. Phillips collected 35 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers in 11 games, while Hippler picked up 24 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers during his 13 games.
